Dr. MCR Memorial Lecture on “Agriculture in an era of climate change” by eminent agricultural scientist, Father of Indian green revolution and Honorable RajyaSabha member Shri. Dr. M. S. Swaminathan.

    The lecture touched upon:
  • Important issues to better understand and appreciate the roles that modern technology genetics will play to select more climate-resilient crop.
  • How to mitigate the consequences of climate change
  • Need for establishing an interdisciplinary Climate Risk Management Research and Training Centre in each of the 128 agro-climatic zones in India
  • Explore ways to capitalize & optimize the benefits of good seasons and minimize damage from scanty monsoons

AWARENESS PROGRAM ON POTHOLES – ROAD SAFETY

Organized a ‘Pot’ography Contest in Hyderabad city - September 2017,
An initiative to help improve the deplorable road conditions in urban areas
The ‘Potography Contest’ held by MRCF recently attracted strong response from Hyderabadi’s who were all for the HYD 360 initiative that seeks to address amongst other urban issues, solutions to the growing pothole menace in the city. The contest invited participants to send in photographs of potholes on the roads of Hyderabad city with a cash prize of Rs. 5000 for the worst pothole picture. Through its ‘HYD 360’ initiative, MCRF is using the feedback from denizens to identify the worst affected areas and is escalating the matter to the officials of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation for immediate action. The idea is to trigger government action to improve road conditions and to strive for safety of commuters by ensuring that poor roads riddled with pot holes are repaired in a timely manner.

Dr. MCR Memorial Lecture on Lecture on ‘Transformation for a Sustainable Future' by Nobel laureate Prof. Dr. Yuan. T. Lee, who won Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1986 "for their contributions concerning the dynamics of chemical elementary processes".

    The lecture touched upon:
  • The critical need to adopt recycling as a solution to control over exploitation of resources, which is leading to climate change.
  • The need to adopt simplified living and a global response to save the coming generations.
  • Present carbon footprint and future rise in global temperature, which could be fatal to life.
  • Charting a sustainability plan to deal with issues of inflation, pollution & resources shortage

Dr. MCR Memorial Lecture on Lecture ‘Water for all and No Water Wars' by Mr. T. Hanumantha Rao, UN Consultant, and former Director General, WALAMTARI.

    The lecture touched upon:
  • Four Waters Concept - an effective solution for drought-proofing areas by harvesting rain water, recharging water table and providing water to three crops in a year.
  • Public awareness and government participation to resolve is essential to implement of Four Waters concept.
  • Cost incurred in Four Waters concept. Approximately Rs.5,000 per acre and all it required is ten simple earth works and four vegetative activities and doing away with big cement check dams.

Dr. MCR Foundation and Girls in Tech (India) interactive, activity based workshop on Confidence, Leadership and Women Entrepreneurship .

The workshop was conducted at Microsoft campus, Hyderabad pertaining to Confidence Building, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills. The following modules were taught in the workshop to empower power in:-
Confidence Building: Importance of becoming self-aware, Discovering your inner critic, Speaking in public, Leading with confidence, Having a voice within your company and Executive coaching.
Women Entrepreneurship: It is the new “Golden Age of the Entrepreneur” (in Silicon Valley and across the globe). So you’ve asked yourself: How do I start my own company? How do I strengthen my offering and hone my pitch? Learn skills for startup success from top entrepreneur experts, who will provide you with opportunities to learn from the best. Topics covered: Idea, Customer, Team, Product, Design, and Pitch.
Leadership: Leading a team, Creating efficient communication models, Creating efficient processes, procedures and infrastructure, Leading scrums, Team-building exercises, Hiring slow/firing fast and PR/Media training.


MCRF Skill Development Centres .

MCR Foundation has tied up with industry leaders as Knowledge Partners (Such as GMR Foundation) to co-create Center of Excellences in skill development for unemployed youth in Hyderabad and Nagaram. The centres act as ecosystems which provides the best-in-class skill development programmes in the field of renewable energy. To ensure industry-relevant training, content development and curricula design, setting up of best-in-class training labs, training of trainers and regular monitoring of training delivery is undertaken by Knowledge Partners.

Furhertmore MCRF leverages corporate relationships with varioous companies in order to reach out to a larger employer base. It partners with various organisations as Placement Partners. These partnerships serve the dual purpose of making the youth employable and ensuring their livelihood.
